john kotfila is being remembered as a hero. the 30-year-old was killed by a wrong-way driver over the weekend. erik macbeth crashed into him head-on, on the selmon expressway. we're learning there is one part of the bay area where you are most likely to run into a wrong way driver. 10 news jonathan petramala is digging deeper into the growing problem of wrong-way crashes. there's one way to drive in south tampa.

your respects to deputy kotfila there will be an open visitation at saint timothy's catholic church in lutz, friday at 11:00 a-m. the service will follow at 1:00. the deputy will be laid to rest in his home state of massachusetts. new this morning, a cross-county chase ends with the suspect crashing into two deputies. the pasco county sheriff's office says 46-year-old christopher conti was intoxicated and swerving on the road. deputies followed him into pinellas county where they say he rammed his truck into two patrol cars. they found drugs and paraphernalia inside his truck. he faces a number of charges including aggravated assault with a vehicle. it's your choice in 2016 and today is a very important day for the presidential candidates. there are 5- primaries-- including florida. more than one- thousand delegates are up for grabs. trump was in tampa on monday where he got support from attorney general pam bondi and former alaska governor sarah palin. protesters who made their way in the room -- managed to disrupt the event 5

killed -- was hit by a bullet from a fellow officer. detective jacai colson arrived in an unmarked car in the middle of the firefight. he was dressed in civilian clothes, and wearing no body armor. investigators say michael ford started randomly shooting at police while his two brothers recorded the whole thing. ford and his two brothers have been arrested. the latest in the deadly kalamazoo shooting rampage. a newly released police report says jason dalton told investigators he was being controlled by the uber app through his cell phone. authorities believe he carried out the february 20th shootings in between driving for uber. dalton is charged with killing six people and wounding two others. it's week two in the hogan versus gawker sex tape trial. on monday the former gawker "editor in chief" took the stand. "a-j daulerio" is the person who posted the sex tape online. he defended a controversial statement from a video deposition last week. he says he was

a popular north tampa nightclub is after what state health inspectors call a rodent infestation. green gators bar out of the former location on anderson road, just expressway. the business is much more a nightclub than a restaurant. 10investigates looking into the bar's history of restaurant red alert. when we stopped by last week. the building was locked up and looked abandoned. it was a much with hundreds

and dancing. now management tells me they do still serve chicken wings. but much of their full scale kitchen is no longer is use. even so. state health inspectors ordered an emergency closure of the establishment march 4th. after an alcohol beverages & tobacco inspector reported to colleagues with the division of hotels and restaurants. his observation of hundreds upon hundreds of rodent droppings throughout the entire kitchen.. and the overwhelming smell of rodent urine. it was so bad. he recommended the health inspector bring extra help for the inspection! following questions for customers. green gators posted they closed down due to "a gas leak" on their official facebook page. since then we spoke with "boo" one of the managers who acknowledged that statement was untrue. he also declined to allow our camera into the kitchen. to show us if the problems were really cleaned up.

you who don't order food at green gators, the inspector found a host of other issues including a black or green mold like substance inside the ice machine and repeated violations for no soap or paper towels at the employee hand washing sink. green gators was cleared to reopen, the day after the closure. and speaking of health code violations, 10 investigates found big problems in the offices of the state agency which inspects florida's restaurants. an inspector reported finding 10 pounds of bat feces directly above the office of secretary ken lawson, who oversees the the florida department regulation. no one should enter his office because of air quality concerns. state lawmakers have ordered the department to find new offices by this summer. a graphic video is a man urinating on a conveyor belt at a kellogg's production plant in memphis. the f-d-a is investigating. showing the video because of its nature. kellogg officials say the video was recorded in 20-14, but they just became aware of it. they say products that could have been affected include rice krispies treats, rice

cereal and puffed rice cake products. since the video was shot back in 20- 14, those items would be past expiration if they were on store shelves. ### outrage after a deadly turn in the iditarod race. a 26-year-old man is facing charges for ramming two separate racing teams with a snowmobile. arnold demoski is accused of killing one dog and injuring several others. he's charged with assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. he admitted to drinking heavily before getting on his snowmobile saturday. he claims he blacked out, but here's what he says he remembers. the teams hit were two of the top mushing teams in the iditarod. both of them decided to stay in the race. coming up, a video you don't want to miss. a stampede that caught everyone by

good morning and welcome to 10 news this morning. i'm allison kropff. and i'm ian reitz. it's election day in florida. today you have a chance to vote in our state's primary, which could be make or break for a couple of the candidates on both the republican and democratic side. 10news reporter sarah hollenbeck is live at the palma ceia baptist church, one of the busiest polling places in hillsborough county. sarah- 5 states will host primaries today and its setting up to be an extremely important day in the race to the white house.
